2011 Photography Thesis
Needless to say, I didn’t sleep well last night.
Today, I made the final big step in this whole process and installed my show at the SoFA Gallery this morning with the help of my roommate, Lauren. The hardest part of it all was the measuring and precision. It took about a minute to actually hang the work once the screws were in the wall. I got chills seeing my stuff finally completed, framed, and hanging. The final touch of adding the vinyl lettering with my name and exhibition title, and adjusting the gallery lighting really put the cherry on top.
Right now, it’s hard to explain my feelings. The big huge sense of relief hasn’t hit me yet. The anxiety is certainly over (although I am nervous to see/hear what people think of my stuff), but I am so happy to be finished.
I thought I would share some pictures from the installation today, but as you would expect, I don’t want to spoil the surprise of seeing my work for anyone. No one has seen my stuff aside from the BFA photographers, and Lauren.
My stuff is up and finished! Here’s a blurry teaser.
My favorite installation tool.
BFA printmaker, Darian Stahl, realizing the difficulty of installing hanging pieces. They look awesome though!
Measuring took quite awhile, but once the measurements were down, the pieces got up quickly

The final touch!
The show opens tomorrow. Thanks everyone for being so kind and supportive through this whole thing.
